On July 5th, Chef announced the first 1.x release of their new flagship management platform – Automate. For those that are unfamiliar, Chef Automate provides several key solutions for Chef environments by providing Pipeline validation of cookbooks, compliance scanning, visibility into the state of Chef runs on the hosts.  I have worked with Automate for almost 9 months now and plan a bigger series on getting started.  In the meantime,Chef has released a great tutorial leveraging docker to build the system.  The tutorial shows a very quick view into how the Chef Automate compliance features work.  This is a working demo and you can try some of the other features.
